This organisation has been supplying goods to engineers, major manufacturers and many construction and utility companies for more than 40 years. They have an extensive product range of over 65,000 individual products in various categories.
ROLE SUMMARY
To commercially managed a defined customer account base to achieve and exceed sales targets through effective account management, product presentations and other sales activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Good organisational and communication skills
Commercial focus
Preferable engineering and technical background
Educated to ONC / HNC level or equivalent
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS
Experience and knowledge of industrial pipeline products; pipe work, heating equipment, pumps, valves etc
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and organise a defined geographic customer base to achieve effective and efficient sales calls and full customer coverage.
Plan, conduct and record customer calls to develop and sales.
Prepare, discuss, negotiate and agree actions and decisions with customers.
Understand key business operation and direction of accounts to enable identification of actions, resource and correct promotion of products and value added services.
Gain and apply knowledge of the structure and decision making process within accounts.
Establish a broad range of influential contacts across all levels of accounts and the industrial and service sector customer base.
Search for new business opportunities through existing accounts and new accounts within the industrial, service and consumer sector market place.
Continually identify and exploit opportunities to profitably grow the business.
Identify and present new products, product developments and the product range to customers.
Share areas of opportunities and technical expertise with the team.
Attend team meetings to share present and discuss activities with the team.
Analyse the financial database to monitor and understand reasons for an accounts performance.
Prioritise and set customer actions and tasks accordingly.
Gather information and evaluate factors affecting customer business.
Compile market intelligence.
Update, record and monitor the customer database to ensure true visibility of activities.
Effectively utilise and work with the internal sales/service team members to develop specific account performance.
