Job description/person specification

The role is for an external sales person in a busy insurance agency working for the local agent. The office is based in Elland, near Halifax, West Yorkshire.

The successful applicant will have a proven sales record, with the drive and determination to achieve the targets set for them in terms of general business production, focusing on general insurance / commercial risks, and also the generation of leads for our financial consultants and risk management team. They will be self motivated and responsible for their own prospect database, with an ability to work to deadlines and manage their time effectively.

Reporting to the Agent, the Sales Executive will be based within the office as part of the current team of eight but will have specific responsibilities for bringing new customers and business to the Agency to contribute to our ambitious growth targets.

Whilst it would be an advantage to have an insurance or financial services background, this is not essential. Full training will be given on the products and it is expected that the successful candidate would pass their licensing assessments on all categories of products within a six month period. A minimum of five GCSEs, including English and maths is a requirement.

Salary will be £25,000 OTE. The successful candidate will be expected to provide their own car, for which a mileage allowance will be paid.
