A bargain 50ft traditional live aboard.

The cost of living on a boat are much less than living in a house, the fixed costs per year are about £1500, this is for your British waterways license, BW provide water and sewage services at sanitary stations, your canal side mooring fees. You do not need to pay council tax or utility bills, power and heating is provided by low tax red diesel, hot water and cooking (when you do not want to use the Rayburn), by bottled gas. So, to live inthis boat is a real pleasure.

The Boat comes complete with all the equipment you will need to live aboard and a full induction on how everything works and how to maintian it.

A 1994 2 (+2) berth 50ft Traditional style steel hulled narrow boat, built by Evans and sons.

Moored at Hebden Bridge W Yorkshire

Boat safety certificate, till Feb 2011
Engine a Beta Marine Kubota diesel engine.

This 50 ft narrow boat, has been used as a permanent live aboard, but would also make an ideal holiday/weekend boat. With its high capacity water and waste tanks and a hull with a very good swim for easy handling, I mostly sail single handed. This boat is perfectly suited for long distance cruising on the canal and river network.

The layout.

Starting at the bow a gas locker with space for 2x13kg propane bottles, hoses for taking on water and pump out hoses.

Followed by a boat deck approx area 4.5ft x 6ft

Leading to the front double doors and a two step descent to the lounge area.

The 10ft x 6ft lounge area, is been used as a flexible space.
The lounge area contains a six seat kitchen table. The new owners can have more space if needed.
The floor is a hard wood , there is some cupboard space, and a recess suitable for a small TV or stereo unit.

The 7.5ft x 6ft galley follows immediately from the lounge. This area has a single and double fitted kitchen units ,with large 7.5ft x1.5ft tiled work surface, and a 2.5ft x 1.5ft tiled work surface. A Belfast sink with hot and cold water. The galley area comes complete with a Rayburn diesel stove, a 12v electric fridge and two ring gas hob. The floor is both hard wood and slate style tiles.

The lounge and the galley area has a 240v power circuit that can be run from a 750w inverter (from batteries), a power hook up.. Lighting is by 4 x 12v spot lights and 3 double sets of 12v florescent tubes.

The Rayburn stove comes complete with two uninstalled radiators .Hot water is provided by a Paloma propane burning water heater. The insulation through out the boat is up to a high standard, and even with out the radiators I found the boat very comfortable during the winter.

At the end of the galley area there is a door leading to 5x6ft double port holed bathroom, which contains a small bath and shower, a sink unit, and toilet.
The toilet is connected to a high capacity waste tank with a self macerating pump, so it is possible to empty the waste tank without having to use and pay the £10 fee to use British Waterways or marina’s pump out equipment.

The bathroom leads onto a 8ft x6ft doubler port holed and sky lighted boatman’s cabin with a fitted storage unit and a raised double bed.

Access to 4.5ft x 6ft engine compartment can be a set of rear double doors and hatch or from the boatman’s cabin. The Engine compartment contains a electrical control panel, a 750w inverter 3 x 180 amp hour AGM deep cycle batteries and 1 x 100 amp hour leisure battery, a 240v consumer unit, a power hook up and fitted high capacity battery charger. A kubota diesel engine with a Zf m10 gear box and the throttle controls.

To the stern of the boat is a 3.5ft traditional stern, with tiller.

The boat comes complete with everything you will need to live aboard or sail this boat, this includes power hook up cable , cast iron pots and pans for the Rayburn ,windlass’s, lock and BW keys, in fact everything to have a great life there.

The reason for this most reluctant sale of this boat, is that I’m emigrating to Chile.
If there was inland waterways there, I would most seriously consider shipping this boat over in a container, but now you can have the choice to enjoy it. extra pictures can be found on this link
