A Calderdale language school has opened its doors to local residents wishing to take up a new language.
Rands English Language Tuition in Hebden Bridge has expanded rapidly in the last 12 months, from just one member of staff to 26 and a growing student body. This achievement was recognized by the Halifax Courier Business Awards 2009 when it shortlisted Rands this week for its prestigious International Business category prize.
Rands is a private language school teaching English to foreign students from around the world. In addition to this, Rands offers courses in Arabic, French, and Greek, and director Sasha Goldsmith now intends to cater to local people of all abilities who would like to learn any other languages.

'Our language school is very flexible and is driven by the demand of our students', explains Sasha.
'We have teachers on our books for a wide range of foreign languages, anything from Spanish to Ukranian. If there's a particular subject you had in mind, just give us a call for a chat and the chances are we can accommodate you.'
One student, Mike Booth 60, from Accrington, felt he had left it too late to be learning a foreign language but decided to embark on a French course after discussing his cherished ambition with Sasha.
‘Now Thursdays are my French speaking days- I even find myself thinking in French words during the week,’ Mike says.
‘My tutor is highly perceptive of my varying rates of progress and works with these in mind. With just the right blend of pace and challenge, along with positive encouragement and recognition, my confidence and motivation to progress is very noticeable.’
Rands English Language Tuition is accredited by the British Council, and all teachers are qualified to Cambridge level and highly experienced. To find out more about courses, group classes and one-to-one tuition, call Sasha on 01422 847638 or visit www.randsuk.com.
