A European Market Leader within its industry, this organisation is experiencing rapid growth and is recruiting within their IT Development department.

There are nearly 200 industry specialists based across two sites in modern offices and the data centre within a rural Yorkshire setting. Easily accessible by car and close to the major motorway networks, ideally commutable from both the Lancashire and Yorkshire regions.

Role Overview
Responsible for the management of a growing team of over 20 people in the existing Development processes and across multiple software product lines and to assist the Head of Development Services and Strategic Director in the strategic growth of the organisation.

Key Result Areas
• To be responsible for delivering high quality development output to internal and external customers
• To effectively manage the operational development processes in an Agile environment
• To increase the Development team in line with planned growth order to achieve the demands on the department required by the planned rapid growth of the business and its customer base.
• To manage and appraise all Development personnel through continuous professional development
• Work with the Head of Development Services on all Product Road Maps by managing cross department relationships
• To be responsible for achieving Development team and output growth targets
• Ownership of the Development Services growth strategy through effective resource and operational planning across multiple physical locations
• Identification of additional software product lines and solutions through effective communication with Professional Services

Skills and Experience
• Proven track record in the management of Software Development processes and personnel, preferably in a Product environment
• Demonstrable experience in planning and executing a growth strategy within a Development department or organisation
• A proven technical background in the development of web and software solutions
• Commercial experience of working within an Agile development environment or at least a working knowledge of the fundamental principles of Agile
• Knowledge of both automated and manual testing techniques
